Get Your Abstracts In ASAP for Saturday NAFE Technical Sessions in KC — 2 Weeks Left Until Deadline
The deadline for abstracts is fast approaching (due April 15), but you still have time to submit an abstract. We're still soliciting papers for the Saturday Technical Session segment of our annual summer meeting to be held July 14-16 at the Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center in Kansas City, Mo..
As a Forensic Engineer, preparing a technical paper is a valuable addition to your credentials. One of your membership benefits as a dues payer of NAFE is the ability to publish a peer-reviewed paper in the NAFE Journal. Do you have an idea for a technical paper that will add to the forensic engineering body of knowledge? If so, please review the author submission guidelines on the Journal site, and submit an abstract.
Abstracts are graded based on the strength and clarity of the thesis, conclusion, engineering content, and its perceived appeal or value to the Academy. Note: If you would like to have your abstract reviewed prior to formal submission, please send them to our Editor-In-Chief Bart Kemper at eic@nafe.org. Abstracts for the Journal are selected based on a blind review by the editorial staff. The Editor-in-Chief does not vote in the process.
The deadline for 150-word maximum abstract submissions for the summer meeting is April 15. Typically, there are only 8 spots available per conference, but we still have spots. After being reviewed and rated by the Editorial Board, abstracts (up to 8 papers and 2 backups) will be selected for the conference, and authors will be notified. The next key deadline will be 90% draft papers due on June 1, followed by PowerPoint drafts due on June 15.
Please let me know if you have questions or need help registering in OJS before submitting your abstract. I am from Kansas City and looking forward to seeing everyone in person!
Thank you,
Ellen Parson
